MOSES BOWEN

MOSES BOWEN was born about 1650 allegedly in Wales and died shortly before May 20, 1761 in Augusta County, Virginia. He married Rebecca Reese.

Issue:
JOHN BOWEN, born about 1680, probably in Wales, and died 1769 in Virginia. He married 1720 in Chester County, Virginia to Lily McIlhaney.

Very little is known about Moses Bowen and his wife Rebecca Reese. It is generally accepted that they immigrated from Wales about 1698 with a large group of settlers enticed by William Penn. Moses did purchase 10,000 acres of land in Guinnedd Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Moses and Rebecca were Quakers. Very probably they had other children besides John but none can be found in the history records.
