Frank Cole's Store, 1898.
We think the underground cold storage for Cole's store is still in existince as there is a large 20' x 30' cellar of rocks with double doors in one of the embankments.

The two story building far in the back on the right is probably Frank Cole's store.
You can see Black Mountain in the background. That is where Ole Mose, the last grizzly killed in Colorado in 1904.
This picture was taken at the bottom of the hill just as the road came in from Salida from the west. You can still see the old road bed today as you drive down CR 2 into the valley.
